About The Author: Arthur Campbell Yate (1853-1920) is a retired officer of the Indian Army and the son of Rev. C. Yate. Yate actively participated in the Afghan War (1879-1881) Between 1881 and 1890, Yate explored regions such as Persia, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. In recognition of his significant contributions, Yate was honored as a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
