Leadership Styles and Shura System An Islamic Perspective

This book draws on the Quran, Sunnah and the precepts and practices of rightly guided Companions of Prophet Muhammad for articulating the phenomenon of leadership styles. Important traits prescribed for effective managerial style under Divine Guidance are identified and elaborated. The cardinal principle of leadership in Islamic culture is Shura. Various aspects and nuances of Shura system are highlighted. A contrast is made between Shura system and western styles of leadership. Unique features of Islamic theory of leadership are discussed.
