The book on Karonda has eleven chapters. The first chapter, introduction includes the importance of Karonda, health benefits, origin and distribution and its recipes. The second chapter, botany and cultivars include the botanical description, species, breeding methods and cultivars. The third chapter includes the climate and soil management. The fourth chapter includes nursery management and plant propagation. The fifth chapter includes orchard establishment. The six chapter includes the flowering and fruit set. The seventh chapter includes cultural practices i.e., training and pruning, manures and fertilizers, mulching and irrigation managements. The eighth chapter includes plant protection management i.e., weed management, insect-pests management and diseases management. The nineth chapter includes fruit drop and its management. The tenth chapter includes harvesting and yield. The eleventh chapter includes the post harvest handling i.e., precooling, grading, packaging and pracking, transport, storage and processing. Glossary containing related terms have been given along with selected references to obtain the information on Karonda. The efforts have been made to describe the various chapters of Karonda in a systematic and comprehensive manner. The subject matter was illustrated with tables and photographs wherever felt necessary. The book has been written keeping in view the requirements of undergraduate and graduate students, research scientists, extension workers, teachers in the field and food scientists of Karonda.
