The first chapter of this book deals with various significant UN resolutions over nature, natural resources and heritage of global significance. Chapter 2 deals with global environmental guidelines for migratory species, endaged species and wetlands of international importance called Rasmar Sites. Trade in endangered species and its repercussions in negative terms is also dealt in detail. Chapter 3 presents relevant principles and declarations of Agenda 21, Rio Declaration, Forest Principles and Framework Convention on Climate Change. Chapter 4 deals with Biodiversity Convention called CBD, its coastal and marine component called Jakarta Mandate and the Convention on Combatting Desertification. The last chapter of this book addresses the Small Island State and the plan of action for their sustainable development. The ecotourism component of all these conventions will be of quite significance in coming future. About the Author Dr. Prabhas Chandra is associated with the New Delhi based Foundation for Conflict Resolution as its Secretary and overall co-ordinator.
