Hill Stream Ecology

The present book 'Hill-stream Ecology' elaborated the biotic and abiotic factors and environmental settings of a hill-stream. The book reveals the general water quality, physico-chemical parameters, nutrients and ions, plankton, benthos, fish diversity, tourism and many aspects of ecology of Sahastradhara stream. The various sections also include the examples in the form of case studies. The book mainly deals with the impacts of anthropogenic activities on the water quality of Sahastradhara stream with special reference to physico-chemical parameters, phytoplankton, zooplankton diversity, macrozoobenthos of stream, heavy metal concentration at various locations, Vedic significance of rivers, national water policy and water quality index.
