English Literature in 21st Century

It is curious and prevalent opinion that literature like all art is a mere play of imagination pleasing enough like a new novel but without any serious or practical importance. As a 21st century enters into second decades history remained the outstanding concern of English literature. English literature term is very popular that means a writing in English language. Formerly it was meant to be British writing. With the course of the time the concept has changed and now it means a writing produced in English language by any one at any place in the world. Although many authors had entered into a new millennium writers seemed to find greater imaginative stimulus in the past than in the present and the future.
