Diversity and Distribution of Bamboos in Assam

This book is the outcome of extensive field surveys and taxonomic study of 40 species, one variety, one forma of bamboos belonging to 10 genera of Assam. The botanical keys and descriptions of species are also provided to correct identifications and delomition of all the bamboo taxa of the Northeastern India in general and of Assam. Taxonomic treatment includes explicit keys to genera and species in the world and in India with notes on distribution and nomenclature has also been given in detail. Discussion on distribution, usage, rare and endangered elements and strategies worked out for conservation of rare and endangered bamboos of Assam are also included in the book. The book is divided in 4 Chapters, management of bamboo resources. The book will be useful to Foresters, Scientists, Researchers, bamboo based-industries and others.
