About The Book: This book is a collection of selected speeches and articles written by Dr. Mohini Giri over the past few years with focus on patriarchy and the evils of the traditional caste system, which hampers women empowerment and gender equality. She has dedicated 40 years of there life to the empowerment of women and children and is considered one of the pioneers of the national women's movement. Dr. Giri is the founder of National Organisations like Guild of Service, War Widows Association, Women's Initiative for Peace in South and is a strong advocate for women's political empowerment. Dr. Giri has received several honorary doctorates of humane letters and is a visiting Professor of Ford Foundation at the Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow University. She has received several awards and has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize Award 2005. She has lectured at National and International Universities such as M.I.T.
