CROSSING BORDERS, STRETCHING BOUNDARIES: THE BOSE-EINSTEIN LECTURES ON INDO-GERMAN COOPERATION IN SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENT

This book presents the Bose-Einstein Lectures on Science, Technology and Environment, which were held in India in the years 1997-2000 under the auspices of the German Embassy and the Federation of Indo-German Societies. They cross the borders of conventional sciences as well as narrow nationalisms, and stretch the boundaries of knowledge. The topics covered range from physics and astronomy to science policy in the 21st century, global research and development cooperation, the compatibility of environmental protection with economic development, new findings in the exploration of outer space.
