Contemporary Issues in Development Economics

This is an edited volume comprising a set of 18 scholarly and analytical papers contributed by eminent teachers and researchers of economics from different colleges and universities of India. The contributors have discussed various theoretical issues related to economic modeling in the context of a globalized environment, in these papers. Also, in many cases, the post-reform dynamics of different development related issues-poverty reduction, industrialization employment generation, health care, gender equality, etc., has been empirically examined in the Indian context, besides a comparative analysis of reforms and growth in Indian and other Asian countries.
