The book addresses the most important long term issue of climate change. While coordinated efforts for enhancing understanding are being made by the natural and social scientists many aspects of the phenomenon remain less known and even less understood. Commonly the people are vaguely aware of the problem, they do not understand the language of the climate change specialists and therefore the course of action at individual level is not very clear to them. Combating climate change requires concerted and coordinated action as well as conscious and informed efforts by individuals. It is essential to strengthen both formal and informal education on climate change. Young researchers along with Senior Scientists / Professors as mentors were invited to share the contemporary research outcomes. The Book is the outcome of the two days Seminar on ‘Youth ready for Climate Change Transformation’ organized during 28-29 July 2015 at IIFM, Bhopal. In this programme more than 21 Universities/Institutions across 11 States participated with 55 participants including researchers, senior faculty members and students. The book has been put together as an attempt to take stock of IIFM’s efforts towards creating awareness among youth, as an important step to combat climate change.
