Research in other areas, especially in social sciences are fast expanding. New techniques are being applied, new scholars are going for model developments. Such process helps to find solutions to problems on a rational way. Because finding solutions to problems through research is rational, scientific and reliable, compared to methods like administration or legal. Research in business is lagging behind other social sciences, due to non-recognition of its values by the managers. Of late, especially after economic liberalization and globalization, the importance is gaining momentum. Business research methods cover vast areas like production, materials, finance, marketing, human resource and office. Among these functional areas of management, research relating to marketing, or what is called as Marketing Research has established its presence after the Second World War.
