The term biotechnology refers to any technology, process or practice that modifies or harnesses any living organism or system to be useful to any human purpose. Plant biotechnology is essentially genetic engineering related to botanical science. Botany, branch of biology that deals with the study of plants, including their structure, properties, and biochemical processes.
