Arms Trade and Economic Development

The arms industry is a global industry and business which manufactures and sell weapons and military technology and equipment. Arms producing companies, also referred to as defence companies or military industry, produce arms mainly for the arms forces of states. The movement of arms across the world is a huge threat to human security. Around 8 million new small arms are manufactured every year, but far more significant is the movement of second-hand guns from the user to another.
