About The Book: Anthropology in India has come a long way. The year 2020 marks the centenary of post-graduate teaching of the discipline in India, it is only befitting that the fraternity of Anthropologists in India commemorates this historic journey by revisiting and looking back, deliberating upon the disciplinary journey of Anthropology in India, through the contribution of the doyens in the field. These stalwarts also shaped the trajectories of teaching, research, and the creation of institutions and professional bodies and their organs of knowledge dissemination. A critical reflection on our history through deep reverence, documentation of the performer, and their theoretical and methodological contributions is a need of the hour.
