Besides a number of books, he has also published a number of research papers in Indian and foreign journals and contributed articles in several books, along with participating in numerous national and international seminars and conferences. His major areas of specialisations include Sociology of Urban Life, Social Stratification and Mobility, Ethnic Groups, Marginals and Weaker Sections of the society.
