Agrometeorology: Concepts and Applications

The knowledge of agrometeorological parameters is the integral part of agricultural Science. The crop cultivation in open space is highly influenced by solar radiation, wind velocity, humidity, precipitation, frost, fog, existence of ocean and its currents and geographical altitude and latitude. The cumulative effect of these components leads to normal and abrupt weather conditions on earth. Among all other science branches, the study on meteorology is given importance only in mid of 2O century, when developed nations like USA, UK and USSR launches their satellites in space for study of world weather. The crop cultivation in agricultural science requires authentic data of weather parameters of world and seasonal climatological changes around the year and decadal variations. Ihe knowledge of meteorological changes also requires for accurate forecasting system.
