About the Book:-The author has made an elaborate attempt to unravel the truth behind Sir Jung Bahadur Rana’s reign in 1857, and the subsequent hearty recognition of those services, cannot fail to bear some fruit. The crop looked for is not large. Only a little thoughtful consideration, and a friendly in a quarter where one word spoken with firmness from the Viceroy and Governor-General of India would be sufficient, in redemption like of Treaty provisions and personal promises, is sought. A revolution in Nepal has been expected for some time past. There was an abortive attempt at a rising. The Hindu’s sacred city by the Ganges has often been the resort of political refugees from Nepal, and indeed from every other Hindu principality. The book is the product of extensive study of Nepal’s cultural heritage in historical point of view between 1857 to 1887. The subject of the book is good. The author has preserved the map and illustrations from oblivion, which he considers his pious duty as a well wisher of Nepal and its people. So, the book is good for general readers.
