This book entitled Fundamentals of Entomology is prepared as per the syllabus of “Fifth Deans’ Committee report of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi”. The book addresses topics on introductory level of insect including its appendages, systems, ecology, pest control methods and insect systematics. Keeping in view of the difficulties faced by undergraduate students of agriculture and allied subjects, an effort has been made to present various chapters in the simplest and understandable manner for the students. The much emphasis is given on the pictorial representation of insect appendages and systems. The insect systematics is made easy to understand with comparative presentation of insect orders and families along with pictures of representative insect for each family. Thus, it provides a clear and accessible introduction to the world of insects.
