Forestry Improvement

he book Forestry Improvement is an outcome of the compilation of invited lectures in the Richard Saint Bacobe Baker Memorial National Symposium on Forest Biology in the service of Mankind, under the banner of Indian Society of Tree Scientists, Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni (Solan). The compilation covers disciplines from tree breeding, vegetative propagation, nutrient cycling in vitro culturing, mycorrhizol associations, genetic resources and disease management. The book has been split into five different sections viz. Section I: Improvement (9 chapters), Section II : Productivity (3 chapters), Section III: Protection (7 chapters), Section IV: Utilization (3 chapters), Section V : Participation and Protection (2 chapters). The manuscript intends to promote Indian Forestry on Scientific lines for overall improvement of forest productivity, besides being useful to professional foresters, scientists and postgraduate students.
